COVID-19 Situational Awareness Update

The COVID-19 Situational Awareness Update was developed by the Wisconsin Hospital Association Information Center (WHAIC) in collaboration with the Department of Health Services (DHS). This dashboard is dynamic and will be enhanced as new data and insights arise.

Data Sources: CDC COVID-19 Community Level data comes from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. For more information on recommended individual-, household- and community-level COVID-19 prevention strategies for each risk level, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website. COVID-19 cases and deaths data come from the DHS Wisconsin Electronic Disease Surveillance System (WEDSS). All other data comes from EMResource.

Effective October 4, 2022, in alignment with DHS, WHAIC will transition to reporting Bed Occupancy % and no longer report IBA (Immediate Bed Availability). In addition, COVID and ICU hospitalizations will use data from HHS Protect rather than EMResource.  WHAIC will continue to update the dashboard daily, Monday-Friday, but please note that the data will reflect the prior day.

*Testing data represent the number of people tested by a confirmatory, diagnostic test that detects the virus in the nose or throat (and not a blood test that detects antibodies). No antigen or antibody test results are included in this figure. Multiple tests per person are not included in these summary statistics.
